Rick Farrall has been with the Warren County Department of Fire & Rescue since 2015 after retiring from the Army as a Colonel. He started as a volunteer at the County station in Shenandoah Farms. He graduated from the Fire and Rescue Academy and was certified as ab Emergency Medical Technician.
He currently wears many hats for the Fire & Rescue Department including, Cost Recovery Manager and Deputy Emergency Manager. He recently completed his Virginia Office of Emergency Management training to be certified. Other training’s include being certified as a Driver-Pump Operator and a Driver Aerial Operator.
The nominator states that this person’s value to the Emergency Management program for the county is priceless. This person works with other agencies including schools, Sheriff’s Department in keeping their emergency plans up to date and exercised. He is currently teaching all public safety agencies and County employees on the “Stop the Bleed” program, which the Fire & Rescue Department was recently awarded a State grant for training and materials.
